| This morning the Medical Physics Group met the students of the Silvestri high school in Portici. During the meeting, the master student Laura Cerbone showed the functioning of the MinipixEDU camera for radiation detection. Later on, with Luigi Cimmino - researcher at UniNA - student assisted to real time measurements of cosmic rays. Students showed great attention and participated in a competition in recognizing the tracks of the various types of interacting particle
This event was realized within the "Timepix in Education" project by the Medipix4 collaboration (CERN) (https://medipix.web.cern.ch/education) which allowed each member of the collaboration to loan a MinipixEDU camera (produced by ADVACAM) to introduce young student to the understanding of radiation physics. |
